This year was great at the Seafood festival, The only down side was my wife Ailyn who takes all my video was sick and couldn’t make it so that means no real video this year, This year my sister Dawn and her husband Harvey accompanied me, this years fest as we walked in i noticed it was bigger many more vendors selling local products, like honeys and jams, One of the highlights always is the food and for me there`s only one place i would ever eat at, i am not into raw seafood so the fresh oysters are out but i am not knocking them if it`s you thing be my guess i just don`t enjoy them, and the other trucks they have there weren’t what you go to a seafood fest for, So the one and only stop was the massive tent of CLAWS SEAFOOD MARKET crab shack & clam bar, owned and run by Frank Palermo and Chris Meyer, These guys know seafood that`s all they do year round in there restaurant/fish market at 20 Main ST West Sayville, N.Y. 11796 there phone there is 631-256-5900. you wont find fresher seafood then this place at the fest or restaurant it comes from the boat to you, there very unique in there cooking also, just taste the bay fries these are fries with there kicked up Bay Seasoning they were great, i also had the fried shrimp cooked to perfection and seasoned well, let me tell you about the steamed mussels they were out of this world, lets talk about out of this world lobster roll OMG it was if i made it for myself that`s how good it was. Frank is a real stand up guy he surprised me as i went to pay for my food and told the cashier it was on him out of all the people in the world he remembered my video i put on youtube last year, i was so thankful for the food but more so because he remembered me as chef George in my small video thank you chef frank i will remember that for a long time made me feel good someone appreciated something i did. So in ending here go see Frank and Chris at CLAWS in West Sayville it`s a short nice ride and you won`t beat there food after you eat take some fresh seafood home with you to cook later they have the freshest around.
To me Anthony`s coal fired pizza is like stepping back in time to 40 years ago, I was just about 6 years old on a school field trip to Manhattan`s little Italy, we were learning about different cultures, people and places, we had lunch this day at a small coal fired pizza shop, I don`t remember the name was to young to think of things like that, and i will never forget my first slice of real pizza, This is where my love addiction to pizza came from, that first smell, the taste of the little char on the crust you only get in coal fired ovens, the flavor of the sauce and melted real cheese, the feel in your mouth, mmm this little piece of heaven had captured my every sense i have and pleased them like no other could, Over the years i have had my fair share and till today coal fired pizza will be my favorite. Anthony`s fits the bill for now till i find that next best spot for pizza, go and give them a try today you wont be disappointed.
Anthony`s is located at 137 Old Country Rd Carle Place N.Y. 11514
there a 4 star restaurant a little pricey but well worth it.
